Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
The long-term solvency of Social Security and Medicare are commitments that Congressman Cleaver believes are unwavering for our country. He has and will continue to fight for the investments needed to maintain these programs for our seniors.
He supports expanding Medicaid and closing gaps in coverage to ensure that underserved and rural communities have access to local health care needed without having to travel hours to receive care.
Health Care
A priority for Congressman Cleaver is ensuring that Missourians have access to affordable, quality health coverage. He has been an ardent supporter and defender of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which has helped bring coverage to millions of Americans. He believes the ACA should be strengthened.
Congressman Cleaver has fought to lower the cost of prescription drugs so families do not have to choose between their medications and their groceries.
Reproductive Rights
Congressman Cleaver disagrees with the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and believes that decision undermines women’s right to make their own health care decisions. He believes that reproductive health care decisions need to be between women and their doctors.
Gun and Public Safety
Congressman Cleaver supports bipartisan, common-sense gun safety legislation, keeping our children and neighborhoods safe while respecting the responsible ownership of guns. He is committed to making sure law enforcement has the funds, resources, and training necessary to reduce crime and violence to save lives so our families feel safe in our community.

Congressman Cleaver believes education and training are critical for our region, state and country. He is committed to affordable and accessible education and workforce training opportunities for all. He wants to ensure students have the skills and education needed for thevjobs of today and of the future.
